Jim'll Fix it for the Perfect Event in Leeds!
Friday 29th February 2008
Conference Leeds, the super convention bureau for Leeds and West Yorkshire enlisted the help of local celebrity and fundraiser Sir Jimmy Savile to launch this year’s Northern Venue Exhibition and Big Wow Show.

The Show is taking place on Wednesday 12th March in newly opened Savile’s Hall in Leeds – Leed’s largest meeting and exhibition venue with 3,700 sq metres of space. Savile’s Hall forms part of the Royal Armouries suite of function rooms.

Sir Jimmy Savile, after whom the Hall is named, was only too happy to help Conference Leeds staff launch the event which has become an annual date in Event Organisers’ diaries.

The Northern Venue Exhibition and Big Wow Show (previously known as the Yorkshire Corporate Hospitality Show) showcases the best the region has to offer for meetings and events.

Packed full of ideas and tips to make events run as smoothly as possible, the Exhibition includes exhibitors from the main venues in Yorkshire, regional Conference Desks and suppliers including entertainment providers, transport operators, av companies and a host of other organisations all under one roof.

An exciting programme of seminars and entertainment is also on offer at the exhibition including a lunchtime fashion event, presentations from top speakers Drayton Bird and Frank Furness on winning sales and e:marketing and a masterclass in how to organise the perfect event.

Not only does the Northern Venue Exhibition and Big Wow Show have a new name but the show also has a new look with its new venue, the addition of The Big Wow! Show which promises to give Organisers endless ideas with the “wow” factor and free limousine transport from the railway station to the show.

Nicola Lockwood, Head of Conference Leeds, said:

“This year the Northern Venue Exhibition and Big Wow Show promises to be bigger and better than ever before. With free transport by luxury limo from the railway station to Savile’s Hall getting to the venue couldn’t be easier.

We are very excited about the event and can’t wait to show Event Organisers all the new venues and new developments that are happening in Leeds.”

Conference Leeds is supported by Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency. Andy Tordoff, Head of Rural Renaissance and Tourism for Yorkshire Forward said:

“Yorkshire Forward is very supportive of this initiative. Business tourism is an important part of the regional economy.”
