Tuesday 22nd April 2008
Conference Leeds, the super convention bureau for Leeds and West Yorkshire and the organisation responsible for attracting conference and events into the area, has launched its most ambitious guide yet aimed at national event and meeting organisers.

The free “Conference Leeds Business Tourism Portfolio” features almost eighty venues in a 64 page glossy guide designed to raise West Yorkshire’s profile amongst UK and overseas Conference Organisers.

Conference Leeds can offer delegates excellent conference facilities for up to 2000 delegates in a range of unique venues including the Royal Armouries Museum, the National Coal Mining Museum and even a real snow slope at Sno!Zone at Xscape, an attraction with a difference on the outskirts of Leeds! Leeds has also seen a huge expansion in its available bed space over the last few years with over 5,500 bedrooms in the West Yorkshire area and major chains such as Radisson, Hilton, Marriott and Bewleys investing in the city.

The guide contains information on the new transport networks into the region with flights into Leeds Bradford airport from over 40 UK and Europe destinations and a high speed train link to London.

Nicola Lockwood, Head of Conference Leeds explains:

“Conference Leeds has expanded – not only has our conference product in Leeds city itself expanded enormously but we now also represent the West Yorkshire areas of Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield and Calderdale.

Leeds is now in the top 5 UK destinations for Association and Corporate events and we are keen to raise our profile even further in the Conference Industry. With this new guide we hope to achieve this, showcasing the world class facilities and unique possibilities of our destination”.
