Well Met Conferencing at Leeds Metropolitan University has hit an all time high for its Ambassador scheme. Ambassador numbers have now reached over 100 and members have secured a wide range of regional and national events generating an impressive income of £415,000.
Launched only 18 months ago the Ambassador Programme has gone from strength to strength and has hosted many high profile events including the NHS Nursing and Midwifery Conference, the England Youth Rugby Squad, and Northern Ballet.
As part of a development project for the scheme, Well Met recently surveyed ambassadors about the programme. The results reflected how members welcomed the initiative and valued the support they received from the Well Met Conferencing team to secure high profile events.
One Leeds Met Ambassador said:
“” I enjoy being able to tell people about our facilities and have the backing of the Well Met team to convert this into revenue. I enjoy showing people around our facilities and would welcome the opportunity to gain more knowledge on conference packages and day delegate rates available to external clients.”
Kate Picher, Business Development Manager for Well Met Conferencing, said:
“I’m delighted that the Ambassador Programme has been such a success as it brings in high profile events and provides a wonderful accolade for the University. We are very lucky to have a fantastic range of people on board who have successfully brought in a number of key events for Well Met and it’s great to hear such good feedback from our Ambassadors. I hope this encourages more academics to join the scheme in the coming months.”
Well Met Conferencing has ambitious plans for the Ambassador Programme to make it even more successful as well as increase membership. The scheme hopes to introduce promotional offers exclusive to Ambassadors, encourage networking events and develop a tool kit which Ambassadors will be able to use when promoting the venues for future events.
