Well Met Conferencing at Leeds Met University, which recently celebrated a string of successes for 2009, is once again celebrating following an academic venue award-win for ‘Best Marketing activity’.
The award ceremony held on the 12th November 2009 was hosted by Venuemasters, whose awards are designed to recognise the work within the academic industry. Well Met were up against strong competition from Leicester Conferences at the University of Leicester, Brunel Conference Services, Event Exeter, The Wessex Conference Centre, York Conferences and City University London but successfully achieved joint Gold for ‘Best Marketing’ alongside Nottingham Conferences. The award was achieved due to Well Met’s quality marketing material for their Ambassador Programme, the concept and the way in which the campaign was implemented.
The judges’ comments regarding the entry included “A different, creative approach to relationship marketing, building bridges between business and academics. Good idea with good results.”
Kate Pitcher, Business Development Manager, for Well Met Conferencing said:
“To be awarded the accolade of ‘Best Marketing Activity’ in the Venuemasters awards is a great achievement and demonstrates our success in raising the profile of the University for conferences and events. As the awards are so specific to our sector they also recognise the team at Well Met for their sales and marketing efforts throughout the year. 2009 has been an incredible year for Well Met and we plan to build on this success in 2010.”
Well Met’s award win follows a number of recent successes at the University including the introduction of three new impressive venues – Carnegie Village, Broadcasting Place and Queenswood; an increase in high profile events such as LG Communications and the NHS, as well as a rise in revenue of 130% year on year. All this adds to a number of previous triumphs including the opening of the state-of-the art Rose Bowl in April 2009.
