Another First for Leeds Monday 20th April 2009

Following a rigorous assessment process, the department running conferences at the University of Leeds has become the first facilities management and catering services department within the higher education sector to achieve full compliance with the Customer First Standard.

In addition, this impressive positive outcome was achieved by Leeds’ Residential & Commercial Services Directorate at first assessment, something managed by only 20% of participating organisations.

Customer First is the national standard for customer service, aimed at promoting excellent service delivery at the customer interface. The assessor examined the measures put in place to monitor the relationships RCS has with all of its customers whether students and staff or conferences and events, and examined all areas of customer service, including accommodation, catering, maintenance and repair logging etc.

The Customer First assessor, Sue Lightfoot commented “It has been a pleasure to complete the assessment and to observe the excellent services delivered by RCS”.
No resting on laurels though – RCS has a commitment of constant improvement, and will be working on ways to further improve and enhance the good practice approaches that are already in place.

The University of Leeds, under its brand “Universally Leeds” offers a wide range of quality facilities on its campus close to the heart of the city, hosting day meetings, residential conferences and functions of all sizes. Further information is to be found at www.universallyleeds.co.uk
