University of Leeds Conference Re-brand Tuesday 29th September 2009

The University of Leeds has re-launched its first class events and conference service under new branding and with a new website.

Previously Universally Leeds, the leading conference and events venue can now be found at www.meetinleeds.co.uk as the University’s successful conference department look to make the most of their location and attract even more conference organisers to Leeds to enjoy private sector hospitality services at affordable prices.

The new look service is just one of many investments taking place at the University of Leeds, including a £12.2m swimming pool and fitness complex which will be one of the largest of any UK university and is expected to be open to delegates by summer 2010, and a much anticipated new hall of residence, which also opens to conferences in 2011.

The building will provide conference visitors a high standard of accommodation to rival anything in British higher education and indeed the hotel sector. It will provide an additional 459 en suite junior double rooms on campus.

Richard Handscombe, Head of Sales and Marketing for the Residential and Commercial Services department (RCS) said of the re-branding: “The University of Leeds has a fantastic reputation and heritage both in the region and the country and we wanted to ensure our service – and indeed clients benefitted from this. Our new strap line is ‘Meet in Leeds’ and we think it’s particularly apt due to the fantastic work that organisations such as Welcome to Yorkshire, Conference Leeds and the University itself are all doing to ensure Leeds and Yorkshire is seen as a destination for both tourists and businesses alike.”

The new website is very user-friendly with interactive pages allowing visitors to see the varied facilities on offer through online video streaming, see and appreciate the fantastic fine dining available as well as find a solution which is right for them, their organisation and budget.
