United Award for 'Putting Leeds on the Map' Thursday 27th May 2010

Leeds United’s Conference & Events Manager Helen Briden was named winner of the Leeds, Live it, Love it Award at the Leeds Hotel & Venue Association Awards dinner on Friday May 21.

The award was presented to the individual or team who demonstrated what they have achieved to “put Leeds on the map.” This involves raising the profile of the city nationally or internationally or any initiatives and the results that has been undertaken to target national or international guests.

Helen’s nomination by Bewleys Hotel, Leeds was endorsed by key personnel from Welcome to Yorkshire, the MIA and the Royal Armouries (INT).

On receiving the award, Helen said: “What a humbling accolade being considered against some of the top people in our region. Everyone in Leeds and Yorkshire play their own special part in making this city and county the fabulous and incredible place that it is.”

The award comes at an exciting time as Elland Road commences the development of the new Centenary Pavilion which will offer the largest Conference and Exhibition space in the city and one of the largest in the North East.
