Tomahawk Hotel Group Celebrate 5 Years of Success Thursday 29th October 2009

Calendar Girls receive their award at the Great Victoria, Bradford from the Deputy Lord Mayor

On Saturday October 24th the Tomahawk Hotel Group held a glittering Purple Ball at the Great Victoria Hotel in Bradford.

The Great Victoria, is one of three stunning hotels in the Tomahawk Group’s portfolio ( The others are Woodlands ,Leeds and Aston Hall ,Sheffield), and was last week declared a finalist for ‘hotel of the year” in this year’s prestigious White Rose tourism awards

The occasion on Saturday was to celebrate 5 successful years of Tomahawk hotels. Guests enjoyed a wonderful feast served in the restaurant and then moved downstairs to dance in the stunning purple nightclub which had been created in the banqueting suite beneath.

The hotel held a raffle and auction for the Calendar Girls and leukaemia Research and raised over £3000. for the charity.

The highlight of the evening was an awards ceremony which promises to become a regular event. The Great Victoria has been collecting votes for the last few weeks and three Tomahawk Awards were given as a result.

John Pennington won the “Bradford Business Award” for his contribution to Business in Bradford.

Alexis Jenner won “Mrs Bradford” for her charity work for the Lord Mayors Appeal over the years

The Calendar Girls were given an award for their contribution to Charity Work.

Simon Grybas , The General Manager of the Great Victoria and a Director of Tomahawk Hotels said,” The Ball was a great opportunity for us to show off the skills and talents of our dedicated team here at the Great Victoria and raise some money for a good cause at the same time. Everyone had a marvelous time and this is definitely going to become an annual event for Tomahawk Hotels. We would also like to thank Firenza Floral Design and Devine Venue Dressing for the fantastic room settings and also thank everyone who donated the fabulous prizes which helped us raise such a respectable amount.
