Hundreds of international carers, researchers and practitioners will soon be visiting Leeds to attend the 5th International Carers Conference at the Royal Armouries, supported by Conference Leeds.
Building on the success of the 4th International Carers Conference in Toronto, Carers UK and the University of Leeds are pleased to welcome the organisation’s 5th conference, which will take place from 8 -11 July 2010 in the waterway district of Clarence Dock.
Adam Getliff from the University of Leeds says:
“We are delighted to host this very important carers’ conference, and proud that Leeds was chosen because of Carers UK’s partnership with the University’s research team, led by Professor Sue Yeandle.”
The conference will attract a diverse and top-level audience from the UK and the wider international care community, including leading international academics as well as speakers and participants from local and regional government, health and social care organisations, public bodies, international central government agencies and not-for-profit health services.
Nicola Lockwood, Business Tourism Manager for Conference Leeds, says:
“Leeds has established itself as a place for great international conferences and is a great city, and with such a wide variety of conference venues, great location and an international airport we are well equipped for both large and small scale events. The team are looking forward to welcoming our international visitors over the weekend.”
There are a variety of themed workshops, events, discussions and activities which will take place during the weekend at the Royal Armouries and a welcome reception will take place at Leeds Town Hall on Thursday evening.
