Over 63% of delegates say that relevant content contributes to a successful event and one of the main reasons conferences are cancelled is a lack of delegates. Well Met Conferencing this week announces the re-designed ‘Find an Expert’ service provided by Leeds Metropolitan University. A searchable online database of the University’s academics, including ‘featured experts’ and keywords for each academic’s area of expertise, this popular service is now easier to use.

Viva Las Vegas in Leeds! The Annual Conference and Hospitality Show Ends on a High 1 May 2013
There was no need for the umbrellas when the sun shone at this year’s Conference and Hospitality Show in Leeds. The Show, which is the only Meetings Industry Expo outside of London, was held on Tuesday 30th April at the Centenary Pavilion Leeds, and was attended by over 600 Meetings Industry Professionals from across the UK who enjoyed the spring sunshine and hospitality on offer.

Leeds shows it is an arena to deliver success to Business Visitors 30 Apr 2013
Leeds and Partners boosted the case for business visitors to make the most of the city at the UK’s only national meeting and events show outside of London which starts today [30th April].
Delegates to the UK Conference and Hospitality Show were welcomed on a special tour of some of the city’s newest developments to highlight the forward looking and ambitious attitude which makes Leeds an increasingly well-thought of venue for conferences and corporate hospitality.

Monarch Airlines' Expansion Continues with New Aircraft Delivery 15 Mar 2013
Leading scheduled leisure airline, Monarch has today taken delivery of a new Airbus A320 aircraft. The aircraft forms part of the airline’s expansion programme which will see the fleet grow in size from 32 aircraft in 2012, to 38 during this financial year to October 2013.
The new aircraft will be based at Leeds Bradford airport where Monarch is about to start its first full summer programme of flying to twelve new destinations. A second similar A320, to be delivered in April, will also be based at Leeds Bradford.

THE first British Airways flights from Leeds to London Heathrow in three decades will take off this week, boosting the region’s economy by £10 million a year.
The daily service restores a vital global connection for local businesses while enhancing the city’s attraction for inward investors.
Flights will be timed to offer convenient onward connections enabling Yorkshire based customers to fly from Leeds Bradford Airport to destinations including Hong Kong, New York, Johannesburg, Singapore and Sydney.

Bradford is Crowned as England’s Curry Capital 9 Dec 2010
Narrowly pipped by Glasgow to the overall crown of Curry Capital of Britain, the bid presented by Bradford helped secure the city second place and title as England’s Curry Capital.
Peter Groves, Curry Capital of Britain Competition Organiser, said:
“Bradford presented the most creative bid out of all the cities, drawing on several aspects of the city to fully illustrate the impact curry houses and their culture have on the region and their local community.”
During the grueling judging process the public voted for their favourite restaurants in and around the city: Lahore Café Bar, Azeems (Keighley), Aagrah Shipley and Shimla Spice (Shipley), before voting for the city. more...
