The position of recetionist plays a very important part in maximising the hotels room revenue through warm and efficient guest service from initial guest contact to check-out, complying with all company policies and procedures and acting upon all selling and upselling opportunities as they arise
The poisition has the following key duties & responsibilities:
For the Guest
• Treat all guests as individuals and endeavour to make them feel special.
• Check in guests in a friendly and efficient manner
• Ensure all guest requests are dealt with promptly
• Correctly input all guest computer inputs and postings
• Provide all guests with sufficient product knowledge to makes decisions on the accommodation and other services within hotel and company as a whole.
• Prepare accurate guest folios and provide a competent cashiering service
• Provide a professional and prompt switchboard service
For the Company
• Maximise rooms revenue
• Actively work towards rooms occupancy % and average room rate targets
• Seize every opportunity to sell or upsell accommodation and ancillary services
• Reduce wastage through careful use of stationary
For the Team
• Attend appropriate team briefs and training sessions as directed by the Head Receptionist
• Adhere to all Fire, Health and Safety Regulations
• Adhere to all information in the emergency manual
• Assist colleagues who may be in need of assistance
• Carry out any reasonable request made by the Front Office Manager or Shift leader
One year of similar experience in the service sector is required.
