Meetings & Events Office Sales Manager at the Village Hotel - South Leeds Tuesday 13th May 2008

Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, your key responsibilities will be to develop strategies and generate leads to address business shortfalls and meet targets and budgets.

You will lead a team in dealing with enquiries for new and repeat business and seeing the sales process through from enquiry to confirmation, handing over to operations colleagues to actually deliver the events, be they weddings, functions, our famous Cabaret nights or conferences and meetings. You will attend weekly revenue meetings and be able to analyse and forecast critical business information.

You will demonstrate excellent leadership skills that will motivate, energise and inspire your team to achieve weekly KPIs and departmental objectives. You will be a creative self-starter, capable of thinking outside the box.

More than just a brand new hotel, the Village Hotel, South Leeds, opens in September 2008. Situated in the heart of Capitol Boulevard at junction 28 of the M62, the 115 bedroom hotel will offer stylish and modern facilities. Bedrooms are design-led, the traditional pub serves great food as well as a wide range of drinks and the grill restaurant offers freshly made classics. The conference ‘Hub’ can accommodate meetings and events in its 10 meeting and function rooms. The leisure club boasts a 25m pool, several studios, a variety of classes and a huge gym with state of the art equipment.

Salary and benefits:

c£20,000pa, Bonus scheme, 4 weeks holiday, Pension, Healthcare and free leisure club membership

Requirements skills / experience:

Previous experience of work in a similar role is desirable, preferably within a branded hotel
Proven track record in growing sales and sourcing and converting leads
Experience of using Fidelio and Delphi is highly desirable
Knowledge of Revenue Management techniques
Proven people management skills and the ability to build a strong team and set targets
Excellent communication skills both face to face and on the telephone
Knowledge of the local area is an advantage
