POSITION Night Porter
SALARY Circa £13k
LOCATION The Queens Hotel, Leeds
YOUR BRIEF:
You will ensure our guests and visitors receive a warm welcome and lasting first impression of our hotel. You will be a point of contact for all hotel guests and will deal with all situations in a polite and courteous manner.
AS A NIGHT PORTER YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Ensuring that our guests experience nothing but the highest levels of customer service throughout their stay.
Advising guests on the hotels facilities and our local area.
Checking guests in and out of the hotel using our front of house system.
Handling cash and other payment methods
Making room reservations during office out of hours.
To be fully conversant with room service menu, presentation, and licensing laws.
Ensuring breakfast set up is completed daily and to the required Q Hotels standard
All security: Patrols, fire walks and keys, ensuring that all doors are closed and locked at night.
Ensuring all public areas are clean after the last guest retires

Work pro-actively and coherently with other departments within the hotel to identify opportunities and areas of improvement
Encourage the conservation of energy and recycling at every opportunity
YOUR TALENTS:
Ideally you will know your way around Front Office Based IT Systems
Have a head for figures and be able to handle cash and other payment methods.
You will be flexible and adaptable
Previous experience as a receptionist/night porter in a hotel.
Be able to demonstrate that you can communicate effectively with people at all levels.
