Assistant Conference & Events Operations Manager Required at The Queens Hotel

An exciting hands on role of Assistant Conference and Events Operations Manager has arisen at the Queens Hotel, Leeds.

Working as part of the Conference and Events Operations Management team to ensure the smooth running of the department. You will drive and develop standards to meet and exceed guest expectations and Company guidelines, ensure maximisation of all revenue opportunities and control costs to within budget guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:
• Making yourself familiar with all current and pending business for the department to ensure full preparation to meet guest needs and standards.
• Attending meetings with the Sales team where appropriate to help secure bookings and support the planning process to ensure guest needs are anticipated / confirmed and can be met.
• To adapt a hands on approach to ensure the smooth running of both conferences and events within the hotel.
• Ensuring all departmental activities result in guest expectations being met and exceeded.
• Monitoring to ensure all QHotels brand standards are in place at all times and taking remedial action where required to rectify shortfalls.
• Capitalising departmental profit through control of costs and maximising all revenue opportunities.
• Ensure sufficient stock of all items required within the department, taking action to address any shortfalls in advance of the items being required.
• Assistance with all management activities within the department. This would include rota’s, appraisals, training, recruitment, attending meetings, dealing with discipline issues etc.
• Ensuring full compliance with all health, safety and hygiene legislation.
• Act as toast master at events where required.
• Carrying out Duty Management shifts, ensuring the smooth running of the hotel.

Successful candidates will have:
• Previous experience in similar role within a quality hotel environment
• Previous experience managing events for a minimum of 150 people
• The ability to work under pressure
• Outstanding customer care skills
• The ability to manage and motivate a team
