The Express by Holiday Inn Bradford City Centre is currently recruiting for a Senior Guest Service Manager (Temporary to cover maternity leave).

Start Date: January 2010
End Date: September 2010

Experience Required
Must have previous hotel duty manager experience.

Hours
40 per week; 5 days out of 7.
Includes working shifts either 7am – 3pm, 3pm – 11pm or 11pm – 7am, also includes weekend work

We are looking for a motivated individual, who works well under pressure and is enthusiastic about moving the hotel forward in the current economic climate.

Responsibilities – Deputise in the absence of the General Manager and make necessary decisions within given guidelines. – Maintains all brand standards and ensure colleagues follow these as stated in the InterContinental Brand Standards for Express by Holiday Inn hotels. – Carry out Duty Management shifts, ensuring the smooth operation of the business and the safety of staff and guests. – Liaise with and develop Guest Service Managers in all aspects of the business. – Manage Holidex and website availability and other front-desk functions to maximise room sales at all times. – Sales and networking with local companies. – Guest relations and complaint handling. – Oversee GSTS programme – QE results and all audits. – Responsible for petty cash and float. – Assist and manage staff rota and payroll in line with agreed budget targets. – Assist financial and operational plans for the hotel including monitoring of city ledger, invoicing, forecasting, business planning and budgeting – Ensure stock holding on site is kept within hotel standards. – Provide required daily & monthly reports to Accounts and Central Office. – Assisting with hiring, training and development of staff within company guidelines. – Manage & motivate staff, complying with employment law and company policies/procedures. – Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the hotel rates and promotions and take an active interest in the sales function of the hotel. – Actively seek to maximise occupancy and yield. – Customer care and guest satisfaction
Reservations. – Reading & actioning emails. – Ensuring banking is carried out – daily, weekly & monthly. – Liaising with contractors. – Stock taking – monthly. – Ad hoc duties as and when required.
