Guest Service Assistant at the The Express by Holiday Inn Bradford City Centre Monday 30th November 2009

The Express by Holiday Inn Bradford City Centre are currently recruiting for the position of Guest Service Assistant (Temporary to cover maternity leave).

Start Date: 4 January 2010
End Date: 30 September 2010

JOB PURPOSE
To maintain and provide excellent guest service at all times and provide assistance and support to the team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Take reservation using front office computer systems, ensuring maximum occupancy and rates are obtained

Ø Check guests in and out, including preparation of guest bills and authorising payments

Ø Responsible for manning the Front Desk

Ø Responsible for cash handling including float and banking

Ø Dealing efficiently with day to day billing and guest service queries

Ø Check food stock levels and advise Duty Manager of items to be ordered

Ø Take food orders, service drinks at the bar, assist with food preparation

Ø Clear/clean tables, buffet, kitchen and bar and meeting rooms

Ø Take meeting bookings and confirm food service requirements

Ø Other ad hoc duties as and when required

Ø Report anything considered a health and safety hazard

Ø Prevent abuse and/or destruction of hotel property

Ø Be flexible at all times in order to cover the unexpected needs of the Hotel and outlets

Ø Responsible for looking after Hotel property at all times

Ø Ensure safety and hygiene standards are met

Ø To attend all relevant training as and when required

Ø To ensure that the company dress code is always adhered to

GENERAL
1. To attend any meeting or training sessions as required by management.
2. To be conversant with: a) The Hotel Fire Procedures b) The Hotel and Company Security Procedures c) The Hotel Health and Safety Policy and Procedures d) The Hotel facilities and attractions e) Current Licensing regulations (Food and Beverage Service department) f) Methods of payment accepted by the Company (cash handling staff only) g) Hotel operation standards and department procedures h) Short and long term marketing promotions

Experience Required:
Must have previous face to face customer service experience.

Hours:
40 per week; 5 days out of 7.
Includes working shifts either 7am – 3pm, 3pm – 11pm or 11pm – 7am, also includes weekend work.
